As per usual, I haven't been keeping this old thing updated. Kind of a shame, really.
So, it appears that I've been moving away from fractals and wallpapers lately. I still make them on occasion, but I haven't had the free time lately to really make a finished product. HOWEVER: if anybody makes a request for a wallpaper, I will still always make it.
So, what am I doing instead of fractals, you ask?
- I'm now a second year dual degree Mechanical Engineering and Studio Art major at Lafayette College
- I now own a nice telephoto lens and a nice DSLR with which to use it. On the rare sunny days out here in PA, I plan to get a bit more into photography.
- A couple more new interests have popped up in my life as well (architecture, drawing, design, photorealistic-ish rendering, etc)
But, mostly the first one.
If any of my old watchers are still out there and reading this, thank you! I do still appreciate it!

So, uh, photography.
So, early this summer I went to Italy, and I since I've wanted to visit Italy for years and years, I decided to get myself a DSLR. So, I'm now the proud owner of a Nikon D3000, and after returning from Europe, I decided that I should probably learn to use the thing. So, I've uploaded most of my favorite photos that I've taken over the past few months for your approval.
Also going on in my life:
- I'm back at Lafayette College, transferring out didn't go so well. I'm giving it another go though, and I think I can make it work this time around.
- I've decided to double major in Art and Mechanical Engineering. So, I'm taking drawing classes n
College Applications and Life
So, I've started applying to new schools so that I can get out of here, and to somewhere more suited to me.
Life is a bit stressful right now, lots going on. I haven't had a lot of time for art, but I have done a little bit of 3D Architecture work, which I think I'll upload in the coming days.
I decided that I didn't like the direction my art is going right now. I feel like every fractal that I've been making lately has been a step back. So, I went back to where I started in graphics, which is forum signatures. So, I went and found a random gaming clan online, and started making signatures again to relearn anything I've forgotten. I can't s
Eccentricity Deficiency.
So, I try for the most part to avoid venting, but an art community seems like a decent place for this rant.
Don't get me wrong, this school is great. The professors are top-notch, the post-graduation job opportunities are incredible, the campus is beautiful. Everything is sane and down to earth.
Everything is too goddamn sane.
I might be an engineering major, but I come from a school with green haired people, crossdressers and people coming to school in costume without reason. There is one girl here with blue highlights, and the most interesting piece of clothing I've seen is a trenchcoat. The art department looks like my high school's mat
A Featured Artist
Hello all!
It's been quite a long time since I've done one of these, but I've found a deviant who I can't help but advertise.

My featured artist section aims to bring attention to artists who deserve more of it
Featured Artist for September: PNAGANO (https://www.deviantart.com/pnagano)
PNAGANO (https://www.deviantart.com/pnagano) is an abstract artist who uses traditional (physical) mediums. His works are reminiscent of both the microscopic and the cosmic. The pieces are masterfully made and the textures create a beautiful sense of dimension. The use of value and tone are quite nearly perfect, and the forms themselves are thoughtful, detailed, and interesting.

HAI MATT.
Yep. This is about the same for me -- less fractals, more other stuff. Stupid school. :<
Glad to hear you're still alive.
