It seems to be fractal, but it also looks like it's created in 3D. I think it is hard to achieve even this effect. You should be proud, but of course, there's nothing better than trying to improve something. But I definitely don't see something missing or too much of something either. Yeah, I made it in Apophysis 2.08b, with a considerable amount of editing in Photoshop (which is why I'm kind of hesitant to call it a fractal, kind of like calling a manipulation a photo... its weird...) The detail is stunning. And the bit of glow in the center, mixed with the waves around it really catches your eyes.  Way to go!
